Rozi (Maroyee Chelema) was born on the 16th of January 1974 in the South of Thailand.
He visited the Art Academy Rajabhat in Surat Thani from 1998 - 2002 and graduated from there 2002. This is also where he met his wife Kwahn who graduated with him.
Rozi has a passion not only for painting but also for nature. His wife Kwahn now runs a gardening centre on Phuket where they live together with their two children. His studio is secluded amidst the trees and palms far away from any noise or other disturbing factors. No signs give any indication that a talented but shy artist has found his retreat here.
This explains why he works primarily with motives from the forest. All the colours of the rainbow can be found in the forest scenes he paints. Hard to believe that each and every painting looks completely different but still showing the typical "Rozi" style. Today he paints full time and exhibits at galleries in Thailand, Denmark, Norway, England, Spain, Dubai and Australia with the latest addition being the Masterpieces Gallery in Kerikeri New Zealand.
Strong colors characterize Rozi's works, and he often uses orange and red hues in his paintings. His motives are almost always interpretations of forest pictures - in his characteristic pointillism style in which the colors are arranged so that the full effect can only be appreciated when the painting is seen from a distance.
Growing international demand for his paintings in the past years has seen the prices rise constantly and this is likely to continue in the future.
