The Thai Artist Wat sees himself as a contemporary impressionist artist. He was influenced most in his early years at art college by artists such as Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Edouard Manet and Edgar Degas to name but a few.
Vibrant colours and strong contrasts are typical for his artwork.
In the past 20 years he has developed his own style using very bright colours and the typical impressionist strong textures in his work.
He enjoys painting abstract pieces and has done a collection of skylines from cities all over the world. Hence my choice to have him paint various views of Auckland from the Devenport perspective.
